Visionboard Pro is a tangible interactive tool for users to collaborate. This tool enables users to present and organize their ideas and finally capture most important key ideas to output a physical idea book.

Goal

  • The main goal of this project is to create a hands-on ideation tool that supports collaborative idea generation and organization. The tool will help users present, structure, and refine their ideas, capturing key concepts in a physical idea book. We’re excited about this challenge because ideation is a vital part of the design process. By combining physical objects with a digital interface, we aim to find new ways to boost creativity and teamwork during this important stage.

Target User & Problem

  • Anyone involved in collaborative creative thinking who could benefit from a more interactive and structured way to generate and organize ideas.

  • How might we design a tangible and interactive tool that helps teams generate, organize, and refine ideas more effectively during the creative process?

Design Principles We Applied

Affordance

This example from the prototype is an affordance because it has visual cues to let the users know what they can do here.

It tells users that this is a space for them to put something by using text instruction and visual cue.

It tells users that their action is being processed by show uploading and a simple visulization.

Constraints

It limits users’ action by showing four planned spaces for “topic” which means only putting “topics” in the planned space will work.

Reflection

This was my first time working with tangible interfaces, I had great experience and learnt a lot from it. Tangible interfaces are most useful in situations where interacting with physical objects makes the experience more intuitive or engaging.

 

If I had more time, I would like to spend more time on paper prototyping before moving to build digital interfaces. Actually 3D prototypes is really helpful to think through the whole idea and easier to work as a team. Also, I would like to add even more interactions to our experience if we have more time.
